Job Summary
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. You will be responsible for supporting the daily living activities of our elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to implement care plans effectively. Leadership qualities and experience in supervising junior staff are essential for this role.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation and medication management.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families through effective communication.
- Implement individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
- Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to senior staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance IT skills relevant to record keeping and care documentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior care role or similar position within a care home setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when required.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs is essential.
- A compassionate approach towards elderly care, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
-MUST possess Level 3 Health and Social Care or above
