Electrician - Refurb Operations

Overview

We’re seeking an exceptional Electrician to join our client who is on the expansion. You will be performing high-quality periodic electrical inspections, installations and repairs. As part of the team, you’ll work efficiently and safely. Basic knowledge of joinery is preferred but isn’t a must. You’ll have the opportunity to adapt to a diverse daily workload. With the ability to first and second fix electrical installations when required, daily periodic inspections to be carried out on our fleet of cabins and reactive maintenance of the existing fleet of 230v and hybrid cabins with low voltage & PV systems. Alongside the occasional requirement to carry out stud works, board and trim, daily workload will be varied and consist of learning software systems, off hiring of units. Testing and commissioning of old and new installations is a key requirement of this role.

Attention to detail is key as you complete unit preparation, and your comprehensive understanding of electrical Installation techniques and workspace maintenance will make a significant impact. This is a fundamental role which offers direct support to the Refurb/Hire operations team & plays an integral part in delivering safety & quality on time.

Hours: 39.5 hrs basic - Monday - Thursday 06:30am - 3:45pm & Friday - 06:30am - 12:30pm

Salary: £18.00 / hr - £36,972 per annum

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Support refurb/Fleet manager/Supervisors/team leaders with the delivery of good quality to customers.
  • Work closely with workshop fitters, wash bay, yard personnel & transport to ensure daily operational expectations are met within a timely manner. Cross departmental working is a must. Operate within a team & offer support to the wider team if required, this may also include supporting other depots through periods of annual leave.
  • Identify damage, capture chargeable costs using IT systems & processes.
  • All testing & works carried out to be completed in line with IET regulations.
  • Diagnosing of electrical & electronic systems both AC/DC, inspect equipment, components, carry out potable appliance testing on both fixed/none fixed assets to support with depot compliance.
  • Mentor/train colleagues.
  • Support wider team & conduct on site work when required.
  • Good cost control, manage consumable usage & parts.
  • High level of quality control. Monitoring the quality of work to minimize error & meet KPI targets.
  • Required to have good safety awareness, adhere to all health & safety policies. Able to work in a safe professional manner, this includes good housekeeping, correct use of personnel protective equipment, attending regular toolbox talks. Maintaining the upkeep of your working area to a high standard. Follow & adhere 5S working standards & support the business in our gold 5S standards.
  • Demonstrate professional & composed behaviours in line with behavioural framework & core values. Both in depot & on site.
  • Required to be able to adapt to changing situations & receptive of organisational change.
  • Carry out general labouring duties & any reasonable tasks when required.
  • KPIs, targets & objectives to be met.

We’re looking for someone with these essentials:

  • NVQ L3 Electrical installation or the equivalent is essential.
  • 18th Edition
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Required to supply your own tools.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to work overtime if required due to the hire aspect & demand.

These qualities would be a great help:

  • Low voltage DC & PV experience is desirable, but not essential as training will given.
  • Experience within a multi trade background is desirable.
  • Experience within a hire repair/ reactive repair background.
  • Experience within the site welfare sector.
