A client within the Public Sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works to join their New Build Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a construction environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to ensure that construction works are carried out to the required quality, standards, and specifications, in compliance with contract documents and relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Become familiar with the Employer's Requirements, Contractors' Proposals, Contract Programme, all relevant drawings, and written instructions, checking them, and using them as a reference when inspecting works.
  • Ensure that work is carried out to the Clients high-quality standards, specifications, and schedule.
  • Perform duties to comply with various regulations and consents, including the CDM Regulations 2015, Planning Approvals, Building Regulations, NHBC/Premier, or other necessary approvals.
  • Produce and issue weekly progress/observation reports, including quality issues and the actions taken to address them for the Client and/or Clients representative.
    • Visit the site in accordance with the number of visits required in agreed appointments to monitor the progress and quality of the works in compliance with contract/specification documents, including progress against the construction programme.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
  • A relevant qualification in construction, building surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in quality control and site inspections within a local authority or housing association.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and warranty provider standards.
  • Experience in contract management and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £50,000 per annum.
