Bury Council are excited to announce a newly established HR & OD Advisor role on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is integral to a major improvement project within the Children & Young People Department, focusing on enhancing services across Social Care and SEND. In this role you will support the Council's commitment to structuring our team to attract, recruit, and retain high-quality candidates for roles that are critical and often challenging to fill.
Day-to-day of the role:- Collaborate with the HR&OD service area and a small HR Business Partnering Team dedicated to Children & Young People.
- Work closely with Heads of Service and the Communications Team to innovate and enhance recruitment strategies.
- Organise and facilitate recruitment events that effectively showcase the council as an attractive employer.
- Develop and refine the candidate experience to ensure it is engaging and communicates the values and opportunities within the council.
- Liaise with the HR Operations Team to ensure the onboarding process is efficient, timely, and leaves a positive impression on new employees.
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification.
- Proven experience in HR with a strong focus on recruitment.
- Dynamic, creative, and innovative approach to recruitment.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with various departments.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
