Bury Council are seeking a Procurement Manager to join their Corporate Procurement and Contract Management Team This role involves managing multi-million pound procurement contracts and providing comprehensive procurement and contracts services across the authority. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and manage multi-million pound procurement contracts, ensuring contract compliance and cost control.
  • Provide specialist procurement advice and support to officers regarding high-value contracts.
  • Ensure effective management of categories of spend.
  • Assist in developing and lead the implementation of an effective project programme management frameworks
  • Devise and implement appropriate performance standards and measures for procurement activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale procurement contracts and providing procurement advice within the Public Sector.
  • Strong understanding of contract compliance strategies and cost control.
  • Ability to develop and implement project programme management frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
