WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Location: Bury (with occasional travel to sites in Oswestry and Preston)
Salary: £(phone number removed)/annum (negotiable)
Working hours: Monday to Friday 10:00AM-06:00PM (with occasional weekends and overtimes if needed)
About Company
Our client is an award winning, leading family run foodservice business delivering high-quality food to retailers, restaurants, and food service businesses throughout north of England.
As a result of their substantial growth, we currently recruit for the Warehouse Operations Manager who will oversee site operations ensuring the department run efficiently, compliantly, and responsibly at all times. As a new role, they will have overall responsibility for the operations with support from the existing Service Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations to ensure efficient order fulfillment and timely deliveries.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety standards.
- Oversee the preparation and shipping of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
- Implement and maintain operational procedures, ensuring continuous improvement in processes.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., sales, logistics) to ensure smooth service delivery and address any customer issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges, acting as the first point of contact for any issues during the shift.
- Ensure all staff comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and health & safety guidelines.
- Prepare and report on operational KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management, operations, or logistics, ideally in the food wholesale industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of health, safety, and regulatory requirements in the food industry.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work on specific shift (10AM – 06:00 PM) and occasional weekends or overtime as needed.
