This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Dermatology team based at Fairfield Hospital.

You must possess excellent customer service skills along with sound communication skills. You must be able to work on your own initiative to organize and prioritize your own workload and balance this with the demands of this diverse and varied role.The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive secretarial service within the Division. The post holder will provide a confident professional service to all patients and their carers, whilst supporting them throughout their pathway of care. It is vital that confidentiality be maintained at all times. The post holder must adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.

A strong commitment to personal and professional development and teamwork are also essential elements to the success of this role. You will be supported by a team of secretarial and administrative staff and will report directly to your Support Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Dermatology team based at Fairfield Hospital & Radcliffe.

The post holder's main duties will include audio and live transcription, managing OP slot utilisation, waiting list management, 18 Week RTT and cancer pathway management and liaising with patients to manage patient pathways. The Medical Secretary will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision. He/she will also be able to demonstrate flexibility and use own initiative to carry out duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation, thus enabling the Consultant and his/her team to utilise their time in an efficient and effective manner.

You must possess excellent customer service skills along with sound communication skills. You will support the administrative and clinical team by managing the Theatre Waiting List, ensuring our patients receive timely appointments for their minor procedures. You will be responsible for preparation of such theatres by ensuring all appropriate documentation is readily available. You will take some ownership in ensuring patients 18 week pathways are validated and updated so some knowledge and understanding of Referral to Treatment standards would be beneficial.A strong commitment to personal and professional development and teamwork are also essential elements to the success of this role. You will be supported by a team of secretarial and administrative staff and will report directly to your Support Manager.
