Job Title: Head of Quality

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality to lead quality assurance and continuous improvement across all levels of manufacturing, design, and installation within our specialist fabricated products. This high-level role is responsible for developing and executing a quality management strategy aligned with ISO standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring our projects consistently meet or exceed client expectations in critical sectors such as energy, defence, and transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality performance across all projects, managing quality from design and manufacturing to installation.
- Lead the development and implementation of a robust Quality Management System, meeting BS-EN-ISO-9001 requirements and reducing quality-related costs.
- Develop and maintain an Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Establish rigorous quality assurance frameworks for both manufacturing and installation, driving quality across all stages of project delivery.
- Collaborate closely with clients to align project delivery with their quality expectations.
- Ensure supplier and subcontractor compliance with internal quality standards.
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of quality professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
- Engage with department heads to embed quality practices into project management, production, and operational workflows.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and address any quality concerns proactively during the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- Chartered Quality Professional (CQP) certification
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
- Proven leadership in managing quality functions across multidisciplinary teams in regulated industries (transport, power, defence, nuclear)
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in quality management software and modern quality control tools
- Skilled at managing multiple projects and implementing KPIs and performance metrics to guide quality teams
- Excellent communicator, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
- Background in highly regulated environments (nuclear, rail, defence, power)
- SC Security Clearance or eligibility
