DCS Recruitment currently seek an experienced data cabling engineer based in North West England on behalf of a national telecoms and security services provider.

This company ranges from multi-national companies to local businesses throughout the UK and some parts of Europe. Their goal is to simply enable the best use of IT within businesses.

Salary and Benefits

£28,000-30,000 per annum DOE and qualification.

Overtime available OOH and weekends on occasion, if required.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, 13 weeks on contract leading to a permanent placement.

Job Role & Skills

This role will involve structural cabling systems, physical network infrastructure, the installation and testing of copper and fibre. Amongst other responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Data cabling installation - predominantly excel 5e-8
  • Fibre optic installation
  • Network and connection testing
  • Being the meeting point between engineers on site and the project management teams whilst assisting with the cabling works themselves.

There is a real opportunity for progression here; this company would like to offer development from lead engineer into project management roles, for the right person. Training and support will be provided throughout.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a valid CSCS/ECS card
  • Hold a valid IPAF licence
  • A minimum of 7 years experience within the industry
  • Have a valid driving licence and own transport
  • Possess strong communication skills, so as to provide updates to Site / Project Managers as required via written and/or verbal communications
  • Be analytical and adaptable, able to diagnose problems and advise suitable solutions
  • Be able to use their industry experience and own intuition to lead installation teams to successful project completion.

SSSTS/SMSTS qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Relevant references required prior to start to validate experience.
