Position: SEN maths Teacher

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN maths Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive team at a school based in Bury. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students with special educational needs (SEN), helping them develop essential skills in maths in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
  • Differentiate lessons and resources to support students with a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student's independence and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo and other staff to ensure appropriate support is in place for each student.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to parents and carers as required.
  • Maintain a safe and engaging classroom, ensuring that health and safety standards are upheld during practical lessons.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching maths, preferably with students with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of the maths curriculum and how to adapt it for SEN students.
  • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about working with young people with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education and supporting every student to achieve their potential.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other learning differences.
  • Specialism or additional qualifications in SEN or maths.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
