Bury Council are seeking a Category Manager to support their Housing category. This role involves managing multi-million pound procurement contracts and providing comprehensive procurement and contracts services across the authority.Â
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop and manage multi-million pound procurement contracts, ensuring contract compliance and cost control.
- Provide specialist procurement advice and support to officers regarding high-value contracts.
- Ensure effective management of categories of spend.
- Assist in developing and lead the implementation of an effective project programme management frameworks
- Devise and implement appropriate performance standards and measures for procurement activities.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale procurement contracts and providing procurement advice within the Public Sector.
- Strong understanding of contract compliance strategies and cost control.
- Ability to develop and implement project programme management frameworks.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
