We partner with state, private, and independent schools, building strong, trusted relationships with our clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Hertfordhsire. The role is full-time, term time only, and to start as soon as possible. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working with secondary-aged students with autism, providing tailored support to help them achieve their potential in both academic and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate and proactive approach, with experience supporting students with SEN in an educational setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis who have learning difficulties
  • working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
  • encourage students to engage proactively with their learning
  • helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn.
  • assisting the teacher with students general learning and development.

The ideal candidate:

  • A strong understanding of special needs, particularly autism
  • A strong communicator, able to build a rapport with young people
  • Patient and empathetic
  • Reliable and committed to the school and students' improvement
  • Enthusiastic and engaging
  • Able to work alongside the teacher and independently
  • Certifications and attendance to training courses for SEN are beneficial, as well as first hand experience with SEN.
