Legal Secretary

An experienced Legal Secretary is required to join a leading Law Firm based in their Buxton offices.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Solicitors & Fee Earners with Typing and administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of the office. This position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
As a Legal Secretary Typist, you will be responsible for Audio Typing, creating, formatting, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence, maintaining and organising electronic and physical files, and providing exceptional support to our legal team.
The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in typing and possess a good understanding of legal terminology and procedures. In this role, you will also be in contact with clients, courts, and other stakeholders, requiring a strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment
- Excellent typing skills, with a minimum speed of 60 words per minute and strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and document formats is essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a customer service-focused attitude
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
The Legal Secretary role is full time, but part time candidates may also be considered. Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
