We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager / Project Leader to join our well established client based in Doveholes, or Binley.

Job Purpose:

Manage all aspects of feasibility studies and/or live projects. Responsible for leading crossfunctional project teams, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time and within scope. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, create detailed project plans, allocate resources, track progress, manage risks, and communicate project status updates. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from initiation to closure. A deep understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques is essential. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, quality, and collaboration across the organization through effective project management practices. The Project Manager should also have proven knowledge and experience of cement & aggregate related projects, ideally on installation of crushing/grinding facilities, although any other similar experience on the industry is highly valuable.

37.5 hours per week

£300 per day 

Main Accountabilities:

Project Planning and Scope Definition: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies

Resource Allocation and Team Leadership: Allocate resources effectively to project tasks and lead cross-functional project teams. Provide clear direction, guidance, and motivation to team members, ensuring their understanding of project goals and roles.

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality. Regularly review risk assessments and adjust strategies as needed.

Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate budgeting and financial reporting.

Stakeholder Communication: Establish strong communication channels with internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and potential challenges. Address concerns and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved.

Project Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring mechanisms to track project performance against established metrics. Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports, highlighting accomplishments, issues, and potential solutions.

Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the highest quality standards. Implement quality control processes, conduct regular reviews, and facilitate necessary adjustments to uphold project quality.

Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with regulations and standards relevant to cement technology. Ensure that all project activities align with environmental, safety, and legal requirements.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, contracts, change orders, and communication records.

Lessons Learned and Continuous Improvement: After project completion, conduct thorough assessments to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Apply insights to enhance future project management processes.

Education:

Bachelor (degree) or Masters in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Enineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Project Management 

Knowledge of the following PC programs:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint

Specify: AutoCad, CAD, Navisworks, Document control software, Primavera, MS project. 

Other requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of cement, aggregates or related industries is a must.
  • Knowledge of cement/materials industry technologies, industry best practices, global regulatory frameworks and safety standards.
  • General knowledge of other related industries such as ready-mix and aggregate industry related equipment’s and installations would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge knowledge of engineering and projects process development.
  • Good knowledge on principles of Project costing such as AACE
  • Good knowledge of project development including pre-FEED, FEED, detail, execution, commissioning.
  • Experience in EPC and other contract strategies is desirable.
  • Experience with Regulatory compliance related to environmental and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate challenges and unexpected developments that may arise during projects. The capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and develop creative solutions is highly valued.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale projects,
  • Experience with complex projects
  • Experience using Project Management best practices such as PMI.
  • Define, hire, coordinate and manage multifunctional and multicultural technical resources to perform the execution of large projects during all the project stages (Investment Analysis – Project Request and Approval - Project Execution – Commissioning – Project Closing).
  • Evaluate Resources, Infrastructure Technical Capabilities and Experience of local and international engineering and construction companies to select the best technical and economical alternative.
  • Willing to travel.
  • 8 years Project Management related to industrial plants and projects, cement industry is preferable.
  • 5 years Construction of industrial plants, preferably CCUS or Oil and Gas related plants.
  • 5 years Engineering processes for industrial plants.
