SEN Teaching Assistant | Buxton SK17 | £100 -£110 | Long Term To Perm | ASAP

Long term futures are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Buxton. The successful candidate will work with children special educational needs SEN.

As a SEN teaching assistant you will play a key role in supporting students in a specialist setting that provides holistic support. You'll work closely with both verbal and non-verbal autistic learners.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with varying needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teachers' instructions
  • Working with individual learners in the classroom or working with individuals or small groups in the learning support department
  • Keeping track and recording pupil progress

Key experience

  • Working in a teaching or teaching assistant role
  • Experience working with SEN children especially working with ADD/ADHD/Autism
  • Strong communication and social skills to manage the needs of the children
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude.

To Be Eligible For This Role You Must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
