Long term futures are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Buxton. The successful candidate will work with children special educational needs SEN.
As a SEN teaching assistant you will play a key role in supporting students in a specialist setting that provides holistic support. You'll work closely with both verbal and non-verbal autistic learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with varying needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Helping children with their understanding of the teachers' instructions
- Working with individual learners in the classroom or working with individuals or small groups in the learning support department
- Keeping track and recording pupil progress
Key experience
- Working in a teaching or teaching assistant role
- Experience working with SEN children especially working with ADD/ADHD/Autism
- Strong communication and social skills to manage the needs of the children
- Enthusiastic and flexible attitude.
To Be Eligible For This Role You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
