Your new schoolAn opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Teaching Assistant to work within a Medium sized Primary School situated within Caerphilly. The position is confirmed on a long-term basis with the role involving 1:1 support to children with learning and behavioural needs.The school prides themselves on having an inclusive and supportive environment for both staff and pupils. The leadership team have a clear message and ethos to improve pupils' social, cultural and moral development.Your new roleThis role is confirmed full-time and long term with interviews commencing over the next couple of weeks.Duties relating to the role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting a pupil or a small group of children on a 1:1 basis.
  • Support pupils with behavioural issues.
  • Working closely as part of a team.
  • Creating and maintaining a safe, interactive and engaging learning environment for the pupils.
  • Assisting teachers and other teaching assistants with day-to-day duties in the classroom.
  • Supporting the Class Teacher with planned activities and sessions.

What you'll need to succeed:To be successful in this role, it is necessary that you have extensive experience working with children who present behavioural and learning difficulties. You must be at least a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant with experience working on a 1:1 basis with children who present learning difficulties.Some key attributes required will be for you to be enthusiastic, respectful, dedicated and have a caring persona. Additional relevant skills include being reliable and providing a calm response whilst in the classroom. Good time management skills are also necessary for the role.What you'll get in return:
