Group Finance Manager

With offices in Swansea, Pembrokeshire, Hereford, Newport, and London, my client remains independent and employee-owned, ensuring long-term succession and high-quality client service.

Position Objective: Oversee and manage all financial activities for the Group during the interim period. Manage the finance team, ensure compliance with FCA regulations, provide timely financial reporting, and support business operations.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Manage all financial transactions for the Group.
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements and provide financial insights.
  • Oversee VAT returns and assist with FCA returns.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare year-end audit packs.

Business Support & Analysis:

  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decisions.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and financial elements of tenders and business plans.

Payments & Reconciliation:

  • Authorise payments to insurers, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Oversee credit control and manage introducer payments.
  • Reconcile client and company bank accounts.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Liaise with auditors, accountants, and bankers.
  • Ensure financial processes align with FCA guidelines.

People Management:

  • Supervise and mentor Finance Assistants and Finance Clerks.
  • Ensure team productivity and adherence to financial protocols.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA is desirable.
  • Experience in people management and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end accounts.
  • Knowledge of Sage products is desirable.

Job Type & Working Hours:

  • Full Time, 35 hours per week (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday)
  • 3 days office-based in Caerphilly
  • Salary: £50,000-£60,000 depending on experience
