Due to retirement, an established SME business is now recruiting for a Finance Manager. The company operates in a fast-paced market, meaning they must always keep updated on new trends and technologies to ensure their customers are satisfied.
The Finance Manager is a standalone role, reporting to the company directors with support from an external Financial Consultant.
Finance Manager job duties
- Record financial transactions on Sage.
- Updating bank with regular reconciliations.
- Raising sales invoices, maintaining sales ledger and chasing outstanding debts.
- Process purchase invoices accurately and on time, checking & preparing payments due for approval.
- Run monthly payroll through Sage including all HMRC & Pension provider submissions.
- Process employee commissions, expenses and other adjustments for the payroll.
- Prepare monthly cashflows and other ad hoc reports for the directors.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Liaise with the sales team to ensure all systems are up to date and manage various related administrative tasks.
Finance Manager person specification
- Experienced and competent user of Sage (essential).
- Thorough attention to detail.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- The ability to use their own initiative.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- The ability to work well with others.
This is both an autonomous role and one with authority. Acting a trusted member of the team, responsible for all accounting activities.
