Role: Senior IT Support Engineer

Location: Caerphilly (office based Tues, Wed, Thurs / home based Mon & Fri)

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + bonus

With 30 years of experience and expertise in providing innovative products and services, our client is a leading ICT supplier to many private and public sector companies. Our client offers IT Managed Services and Solution Design to complement several other products.

As the Senior IT Support Engineer, you will provide expert-level support, manage escalations, and lead complex technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering outstanding 3rd line technical support.
  • Working as a technical lead on major incidents, problem management and root cause analysis.
  • Managing and optimising enterprise end-user computer environments, including Windows, MacOS, mobile devices, VDIs and collaboration tools.
  • Managing and supporting Microsoft 365, Intune, Active Directory and Group Deploying and managing endpoint security solutions, patching and compliance policies.
  • Providing technical leadership to Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.
  • Maintain and update IT documentation.

Experience

The successful candidate will have management and implementation experience of

  • Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, Azure AD, Group Policy, Intune configuration policies and Sentinel.
  • Public Cloud Solutions: Azure or AWS solution implementations, migration and support.
  • Firewalls: Sophos, Cisco, Fortinet or PF Sense.
  • Network Technologies/Principles: LAN/LWAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
  • Hands-on expertise in PowerShell scripting
  • Backup solutions and AV technologies.

Desirables

  • Experience with device management solutions

  • Use of 3rd party patching tools
