Our client are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing Department. This permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Opening and closing files in the firm's case management system
  • Updating clients, solicitors, and estate agents via telephone and email daily
  • Taking client instructions, verifying sources of funds, and checking IDs
  • Preparing draft documents and issuing sales contracts
  • Requesting mortgage redemption figures
  • Drafting transfer deeds
  • Replying to sales enquiries
  • Ordering property searches
  • Managing the exchange of contracts for sales and purchases
  • Conducting pre-completion searches
  • Submitting LTT/SDLT tax returns
  • Handling post-completion processes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good typing skills
  • Organised, efficient, and adaptable

Other Relevant Requirements:

  • Understanding and compliance with the Firm's Equality & Diversity Policy in interactions with clients, staff, and external service providers
