We have an immediate requirement for an TraineeCNC MachineSetter/Operator with a strong background in component / Mechanical manufacturing.

If you are or have been working in a componentengineering business and now seeking a opportunity to further develop your skills and experience tobecome a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator this is for you.

Duties will include

  • Setting up and ensuring relevant program is ready to run on either a CNC lathe or VMC
  • You will be operating both mills and lathe
  • Running machines concurrently
  • Ensure components are produced to specified tolerances from technical drawings
  • Inspect components using various measuring equipment such as verniers, thread gauges, callipers, micrometres etc.
  • Debur components across a range of materials
  • Report any anomalies to the Machine Shop Manager
  • Work with Quality Inspection Department during component manufacture.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment and maintained company standards
  • Carry out weekly clean of your assigned CNC machines.

The Person

You will have experience working within a component manufacturing environment ideally with some machine setting and operating knowledge. An engineering qualification. Fanuc or Mazatrol controls knowledge would be beneficial.

  • HNC/HND/NVQ in mechanical engineering
  • Setting and Operating Milling and Turing Machines
  • Fanuc and Mazatrol controls
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Verniers, thread gauges, callipers, micrometres etc.
  • Deburring
  • Quality control and Inspection
