Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Surrey
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
Working Hours: Core hours Monday - Thursday 9.00 am - 3.30 pm Friday 9.00 am - 2.00 pm - 40 hours in total per week
Hybrid working: 3 days onsite, then the rest of the week from home.

To be successful as a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be multi-skilled with strong leadership skills to work collaboratively. You will take a technical lead for certification and design issues relating to electrical equipment for aircraft modifications.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering design solutions to aircraft cabin systems such us:
- Installation of Galleys, monuments, lavatories throughout the cabin to meet end customer requirements
- Modification to cabin layout by introducing new LOPA (Layout of Passenger Accommodation) and its associated changes such as Passenger Service Units (PSU), Emergency equipment etc.
- Modification to existing aircraft environmental systems such as air conditioning systems, water and waste
- Introduction of new aircraft paint schemes and emergency marking systems
- Design reports
- Ground test plans and reports
- Cabin walkthrough plans and reports
- System Safety Analysis for interior components and systems
As well as compiling engineering accomplishment documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness including:
- Service Bulletins/ Accomplishment instructions
- Aircraft and component manual supplements
Required Skills:
- BEng Mechanical Engineering with experience in aircraft interiors mechanical/structural design engineering
- Experience of aircraft interior reconfiguration programmes and primary / secondary aircraft structures is preferable
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements
- Aerospace industry experience working with an EASA Part 21J Design organisation is preferable
