We are a well-established and successful company who are one of Europe's leading designers and manufactures within the engineering sector based in Frimley. We employ over 250 staff in the UK and due to growth, a new role has been created for a Facilities Electrician to join our team. This role supports the Facilities Engineering team by carrying out electrical and facilities-related work, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of systems within a dynamic and varied environment.
Working full time, Monday to Friday with an early finish on a Friday in an onsite role you will receive a salary of up to £42k with possible over time available. We can offer free parking, personal pension, 24 days holiday and an annual profit share bonus scheme on top of salary.
Reporting to the Health and Safety & Facilities Manager, the role is a mixture of facility related tasks around the faculty along with electrical tasks to ensure the safe working environment of all the buildings. You may be seeking an employed role having been contracting or you are seeking a new challenge for a bigger organisation.
The ideal candidate will need previous electrical experience within a commercial environment and qualified in commercial electrical installations, you will hold a Level 3 City & Guilds (2391, 2394 & 2395), AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
Electrical:
- Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance, testing and fault diagnosis, repair, and disassembly of a wide range of electrical plant and associated components.
- Stay up to date and aware of revisions to relevant building and safety regulations.
- Conduct in-service inspection & testing of electrical equipment (PAT) for appliances in line with compliance requirements.
- Conduct Fix Testing as per regulation requirements for all units as per set programme.
- Conduct general commercial electrical maintenance
- Working at height to access warehouse areas to deal with any electrical related repairs/installs.
- Liaise with external contractors for larger electrical projects when required.
- Action and close any electrical defects arising from external inspection reports.
Facilities:
- Undertake breakdown maintenance where possible on facility functioning equipment.
- Undertake building maintenance tasks and monitor and allocate BMR through Jira and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure all facilities equipment continues to run smoothly.
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed with good engineering practice and in accordance with the PM programme.
- Use of tools ranging from common hand & power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches to precision measuring instruments
- Provide feedback of information relating to external H&S Compliance reports; organise resolution to highlighted issues and record and update relevant maintenance schedule.
- Monitor engineering asset register and book where appropriate relevant contractors to aid preventative and compliant maintenance.
To be successful for this role you will have the following.
- Experienced and qualified in commercial electrical installations
- Level 3 City & Guilds (2391, 2394 & 2395)
- AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Demonstrable experience of working alongside an electrician or as an electrician
- Experience of carrying out building maintenance repairs and working under own initiative
- Good understanding of statutory and non-statutory documents
- Understanding of Guidance Notes 1-8, BS7671 On Site Guide, BS7671 Regulation
- Knowledge of electrical legislation regulations requirements for compliance
- Knowledge and experience in Portable Appliance Testing
- Be able to carry out preventative checks and routine inspections to see potential issues, take corrective measures and anticipate ongoing needs
- Interpret inspection reports, manuals and documentation and keep required documentation up to date to ensure compliance with internal and external audits and company procedures
