Senior Building Surveyor

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join a Housing Association a temporary basis. This role offers the chance to lead, inspire, and support a team of Building Surveyors, delivering high-quality solutions for housing maintenance and development.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Guide and develop a team of Regional Building Surveyors to address complex repairs.
  • Manage and resolve challenging projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and value for money.
  • Collaborate with contractors, clients, and in-house teams to maintain housing stock to the highest standards.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across all projects, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in domestic dwelling management from a technical perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of building diagnosis and fault-finding.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety legislation related to housing management and the construction industry, including CDM regulations.
  • Experience in letting and project management of contracts and service providers, including developing formal specifications, contracts, and technical information.
  • Proven building surveying experience.
  • Previous experience at a similar level within an RSL, local or public authority, or private practice, involved in asset management and surveying.
  • Management Qualification (ILM / CIH or equivalent) (Desirable).
  • Health & Safety Certification (SMSTS / IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Level 4 or 5 Qualification in a construction-related field (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS (Desirable).
