What You'll Be Doing

As the HSE Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring legal compliance and fostering a culture of safety for the business covering their Cambourne and Lutterworth sites. You'll lead the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental strategies while working closely with diverse teams to embed best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • HSE Strategy: Developing, implementing and continuously improving a compliant HSE strategy across the organisation.
  • Policy Development: Reviewing and establishing policies and procedures to ensure clear communication and consistent application.
  • Risk Management: Overseeing the development and review of robust risk assessments, ensuring identified actions are addressed and control measures are implemented.
  • Accident and Incident Management: Leading investigations, maintaining detailed records, and ensuring compliance with RIDDOR regulations.
  • Training: Identifying and addressing HSE training needs, tracking compliance, and ensuring regular refreshers are conducted.
  • Specialist Focus Areas: Managing key topics such as COSHH, radiation safety, laser safety, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Environmental Management: Driving initiatives related to waste management, emissions, pollution prevention, and environmental reporting.
  • Audit Participation: Supporting internal corporate audits, ISO accreditation, and HSE-specific reviews.

What We're Looking For:

  • We're seeking a passionate and solutions-focused individual with the skills, experience and expertise to champion HSE excellence across a dynamic and innovative organisation.

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
  • At least 5 years' experience managing health and safety compliance in a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of COSHH requirements and process services e.g. nitrogen, compressed air, argon, process chilled water.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in health and safety within a Facilities Management context
  • Experience in health and safety within construction projects.
  • Knowledge of radiation and laser safety.
