I have partnered with a leading Educational organisation who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to be based in the heart of Cambridge.

This role will have a broad set of responsibilities from producing accurate financial reporting, managing the general ledger to supporting with internal controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and complete trial balances, reconciling with Management Accounts.
Lead the preparation of statutory accounts
Oversee Restricted Funds, Cashflow, Balance Sheet, and monthly reporting.
Reconcile general ledgers and address discrepancies with the Finance team.
Prepare statutory accounts, Direct/Indirect Tax returns, and compliance reports.
Manage external audits, acting as the main point of contact.
Apply Charities SORP updates to internal reporting.
Define and enforce accounting policies, financial controls, and process improvements.
Lead transactions finance enhancements, automation, and efficiency initiatives.
Support the team, and provide continuous improvement.
Perform other tasks as directed by the Head of Finance.

Qualifications and Skills

ACCA/ACA Qualified or Qualified by experience
Experience working within a education or non-for-profit environment would be desirable
Self-motivated, and confident
Willingness to learn and continue developing
Advanced excel and knowledge of financial systems
