We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller with a strong FP&A background to join our dynamic team in Cambridgeshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a rapidly growing FMCG business, where you will take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with a deep understanding of financial management, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Description

  • Financial Control: Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
  • FP&A Leadership: Lead the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business goals. Provide insights and analysis on financial performance, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular financial reports to senior management, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and actionable. Monitor key financial metrics and provide recommendations to improve profitability and cost management.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance with company policies, and regulatory requirements. Support external audits and ensure timely filing of financial statements.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring effective working capital management and optimizing cash position.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a small team, providing guidance and development opportunities.

Profile

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification with significant post-qualification experience in financial control and FP&A roles.
  • Proven experience in an FMCG environment is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of the dynamics of the industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Experience with financial modeling and scenario planning.
  • Ability to interpret and present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and Excel (advanced level).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
