Morgan Law are partnered with and NHS Trust to recruit for a Head of Financial Accounts. The role will be an integral part of the Finance Team providing support to the Associate Director of Finance and providing a reliable and responsive financial accounting service to ensure the provision of high-quality financial advice and information to Senior Managers, Committees, and other stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely production of various statutory returns, including the Trust's annual accounts and monthly returns to the Board, capital reporting, management of Charitable Funds, Integrated Care Board (ICB) and NHS England (NHSE). The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of the SBS functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, procurement, and treasury management.


The Finance Department supports every aspect of the business and is primarily responsible for ensuring the following:

  • optimisation of limited financial resources
  • appropriate financial controls in place
  • financial policies and procedures adhered to
  • compliance with financial reporting requirements

One of the major roles of the Finance Department is to identify appropriate financial information prior to communicating this information to managers and decision-makers, in order that they may make informed judgements and decisions. The Finance Department contributes an objective perspective based on financial assessment techniques.

The Department works closely with SBS, who are the Trust's shared services provider, to monitor the purchase ledger, sales ledger, procurement, treasury management and payroll functions, providing input and support as appropriate.
