Interim Accountant (18 month fixed term contract)

£40,000-£45,000 per annum
We are currently working with a well known Cambridge city centre employer who are seeking an experienced and confident Accountant to join their General Ledger Team on a maternity cover basis for 18 months. This role is ideal for a finalist or part-qualified Accountant with a strong track record in financial and management reporting, and experience in administering financial processes, budgeting, and forecasting.
Day to Day of the role:- Liaise across the business with divisional finance teams, providing financial support and advice.
- Prepare and import/post large journals using Excel add-in Atlas.
- Prepare and load prepayment and accrual journals.
- Review P&L and Balance sheet transactions for errors using Excel PIVOTS, VLOOKUPs, IFs, etc.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work as part of a team to ensure all monthly tasks and deadlines are met.
- Finalist or part-qualified accountant with the ability to constructively challenge (those with strong experience and no qualifications will also be considered).
- Proven experience in financial and management reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with large and complex data sets.
You will join an established, friendly team, working in pleasant modern offices, and will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis. Please note that there is no parking on site available, however this client's offices are under a 5 minute walk from the city centre train station.
