We are delighted to be working with a very prestigious organisation in Cambridge who are seeking an interim Financial Controller. The individual will be required to lead the Accounting team, ensure strategic and operational success and manage the accounting and reporting across multiple income streams within a multi billion pound, complex, diverse organisation.  The business are looking for an individual with gravitas and credibility by operating within formal governance structures such as board, finance and audit committees, in large and complex organisations.As Interim Financial Controller you will:
  • Manage the General Ledger and other associated aspects, ensuring complete accuracy and integrity.
  • Facilitate appropriate access to reports and accounts to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the complex year end and audit process delivering a high quality and timely financial close process.
  • Manage monthly reporting and balance sheet information into the consolidation system.
  • Own the development and updating of the financial rules and guidance.
  • Develop and oversee the Financial Assurance Framework.
  • Provide leadership to a team of 8-10 finance professionals.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved with finance transformation projects including Financial Systems Replacement (FSR) and Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT).  Your skills and experiences 
  • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
  • Experience with both managing and using complex accounting and reporting software
  • Good working knowledge of current UK financial reporting standards (UK GAAP)
  • A strategic thinker also able to work at a detailed level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
  • Knowledge of Oracle financials would be desirable
