Management Accountant

Purpose of the role

• Manage the month-end reporting process, with accurate management accounts as the output
• Update the monthly reporting pack, monitoring financial performance at team level
• Own the accuracy of system reporting, including the relationship with our Oracle NetSuite consultants
• Provide the business with financial analysis and insight

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring that month-end billing and ledger processes are followed, with income and expenditure accurately captured, and the posting of month-end journals
• Produce monthly management accounts, complete with insightful commentary
• Produce supplementary analysis to explain business performance and identify key trends
• Ensuring Oracle NetSuite is configured appropriately, making system changes to reflect changes in the business
• Owning the relationship with our systems consultants, through whom significant changes to NetSuite are processed
• Contributing to the year-end and audit processes, working alongside the Financial Controller
• Assisting the CFO in preparation of reports for senior executives, stakeholders and board members
• Acting as Business Partner for a small number of business services, supporting team leaders with financial decision-making and forecasting; and
• Supervising and managing financial department staff

Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with proven technical ability
• A range of experience in a financial environment, with a particular focus on management accounting
• Proven experience of using financial MIS, including an integrated General Ledger system
• Possess the ability to manage, delegate, motivate, monitor and control team activity, and exhibit key leadership qualities
• Possess strong interpersonal skills to enable you to quickly build productive relationships with key staff across the business
• Have a strong commercial acumen
• A team player with a positive approach
• Committed to working flexibly to achieve service and team needs

Salary and Benefits

The role of Management Accountant is offered with a salary of £45 - £55,000 p.a plus exceptional benefits.
