I have partnered with a leading educational organisation who are recruiting for a Management Accountant to be based in the heart of Cambridge.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant plays a key role in financial oversight, including cost control, cash flow management, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. This role provides financial insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with departments and senior staff to provide financial insights and real-time analysis
  • Deliver monthly income and expenditure reports, highlighting key concerns.
  • Oversee month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and major project reporting.
  • Review cash management, cash flow reporting, and credit control, recommending actions where necessary.
  • Lead the annual budget process and oversee re-forecasting projections.
  • Conduct variance reviews and propose corrective actions.
  • Manage and develop a small finance team, ensuring efficiency and service excellence.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and automation.
  • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making and enhance efficiency.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Finance.
Person SpecificationQualifications & Experience
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or Qualified by experience)
  • Strong experience in financial cost management and analysis
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to engage with and advise non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset
