We are excited to offer an opportunity to become a key player in a fast-growing, market-leading AI company. As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the financial operations and contribute to the growth and efficiency of the finance function. This role involves close collaboration with the finance team and other business areas to ensure smooth and accurate financial processes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare the monthly consolidated management accounts including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.
  • Prepare and post month-end journals such as accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintain the general ledger within the accounting system.
  • Ensure all transactions are posted and updated in accordance with appropriate financial regulations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyse and interpret actual versus budget financial information, providing commercial context for internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts and daily statements.
  • Support the Financial Controller with the year-end audit.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to support the growth of the business.
  • Serve as a backup for transactional finance processes such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring smooth operations across finance functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years finance experience, either in transactional or management accounts preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.
  • Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Availability to work at least 3 days per week in the Cambridge office.
