Our client is searching for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their team at their Cambridge office, specializing in inductive encoders and other cutting-edge technologies.
Role Summary:
As a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronics hardware for high-performance motion control components. You'll be working across various projects, from simulation and schematic capture to PCB layout and prototype testing
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop analogue, power, and digital electronics, including microcontroller-controlled systems
Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM generation using Altium
Conduct prototype functional testing and verification
Prepare technical documentation and maintain document control
Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative products
Essential:
Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong experience in hardware design and development in an industrial setting.
Hands-on experience using standard lab test equipment.
Proficiency in Altium for schematic entry and PCB layout.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational abilities.
Desirable:
Experience in designing electronics for harsh environments.
Knowledge of EMC and safety standards.
Firmware development experience and familiarity with Mathcad.
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
Additional language skills (an advantage)
