Commercial Manager (CM)

Role: Commercial Manager needed to head up a 60m project overseeing a team of 3

Salary: Competitive salary negotiable dependent on experience. Package includes car allowance, travel expenses, healthcare, pension, bonus etc.

Location: Cambridge

Company: 800m Tier 1 Main Contractor in Cambridge. They work within Building Construction covering sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, retail, industrial, and residential; Civil engineering with expertise in marine, infrastructure, and environmental projects; Fit-out and refurbishment, providing interior refurbishment and fit-out solutions; and Specialist Services including demolition, remediation, and asset management.

Project: 60m shell and core package for a new commercial building - JCT Design and Build Contract running for 15 months, with potential extension to win the fit out packages.

Duties:

  • Undertake pre-contract setup, including forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering and procurement
  • Manage the commercial aspects of various projects, including valuations / applications, budget monitoring, material / plant reconciliation and contract variations and change management
  • Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
  • Procurement and management of subcontract packages
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining project forecasts
  • Maximise cashflow through the control and valuation of works, invoicing and payment process
  • Establishing and maintaining client relationships
  • Management of more junior members of staff

MUST HAVE: Experience managing a small team commercially; Experience working on constructions of new buildings; Experience dealing with legacy work.
