We are working with a highly innovative technology company based in Cambridge who are looking for an experienced Head of Commercial in a newly created position. Their breakthrough technologies offer numerous commercial applications across a variety of industries, and with solid funding already behind them you will be joining at an exciting time in their development.

You will be taking responsibility to lead the strategy for turning commercial agreements into revenue-generating partnerships. You will secure funding, align R&D with business goals, and represent the company to investors, partners, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company's commercial strategies into revenue.
  • Coordinate R&D with the commercial goals of the organisation, driving strategy with the senior leadership team.
  • Lead UK and European grant funding initiatives.
  • Represent the company externally, supporting the development of new business and investment opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Key Skills: Strong communication and accustomed to presenting commercial strategy at Board level within a technology or scientific setting, high-growth, or financial start-up experience preferred.
  • Qualifications: MSc or PhD preferred, financial qualifications (ACA, CFA, CIMA) also desirable.
  • Experience: 5+ years in R&D, commercial finance, or investment roles; 3+ years in management.
