A training provider in Cambridge are seeking a Construction Trainer with a background in Civil Engineering to join their team. This role is ideal for existing practitioners or those with Civil Engineering experience looking to transition into the construction training sector. The Construction Trainer will deliver CITB accredited Civil Engineering modules and other relevant courses, engaging with learners on-site, at our skills academies, or online to ensure successful completion of their programmes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver training and assessment using various methods for qualifications at levels 2-3, in line with contractual requirements.
  • Conduct training modules at employers’ premises for both groups and individual learners.
  • Collaborate closely with employers to plan delivery according to agreed durations.
  • Utilise e-portfolio OneFile to upload and track all learning, ensuring progress is evident.
  • Visit learners in the workplace and deliver teaching & learning in line with qualification requirements.
  • Generate monthly progress reports for learners within your caseload.
  • Participate in standardisation meetings as planned or required.
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners.
  • Complete all relevant funding documentation and administrative tasks to meet compliance requirements.
  • Comply with all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Essential experience within the construction sector.
  • Experience or willingness to train and assess in Construction.
  • Familiarity with e-portfolio systems, preferably OneFile.
  • Experience in teaching/training in a workplace environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS minimum) or willingness to obtain.
  • Recognised NVQ Assessor Qualification (e.g., A1, D32/D22, TAQA) or willingness to obtain.
  • Level 2 qualification in specialist sectors of delivery is ideal.
  • Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
