Membership & Training Coordinator - Support Growth and Learning in the Agricultural Industry.

Are you a proactive, organised, and motivated individual looking for an exciting role where no two days are the same? NIAB, a leading organisation in agricultural research, is looking for a Membership & Training Coordinator to join our friendly and dynamic Membership Team at our Cambridge headquarters.

In this role, you will be at the heart of delivering essential technical information to the agricultural industry. You will manage membership subscriptions, support the delivery of industry-leading training programmes, and handle BCPC subscription services - all while providing excellent service to over 2,000 members.

Salary: £27,562 per annum (with opportunity for overtime)

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: 37 per week, Monday-Friday.

Location: Cambridge, CB3 0LE until December 2024, then moving to Park Farm, Histon, Cambridge CB24 9NZ.

About You

The ideal candidate will expertly balance client-facing responsibilities, such as engaging with members and promoting NIAB’s services, with essential back-office tasks like invoicing, data management, and event logistics. You will also play a key role in the development and marketing of NIAB’s training courses, ensuring successful event delivery from start to finish.

This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organised, and thrives in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment. You will have the opportunity for career progression, with potential to move into a senior management role. You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the smooth operation of membership services and training activities, directly contributing to NIAB’s mission to drive agricultural innovation.

A background in administrative support, event coordination, or membership services will provide a strong foundation for success. Experience in sales support, customer relationship management, or financial administration (such as invoicing) would be an advantage. While knowledge of the agricultural sector is desirable, it is not essential—you will be able to pick up the industry specifics as you go.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office programmes.
  • Experience using CRM databases to manage and analyse data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently, especially during busy periods.

NIAB is a leading plant bioscience organisation with over 100 years of experience in research, innovation, and technology transfer. Headquartered in Cambridge and employing around 400 people across the UK, we deliver cutting-edge solutions for the agricultural, horticultural, and food sectors.

You will be joining a small, dynamic Membership Team at our Cambridge headquarters. The team is responsible for delivering essential technical information through NIAB’s membership services, training programmes, and the British Crop Production Council’s (BCPC) subscription services. Together, we play a key role in supporting NIAB’s mission to advance agricultural innovation by engaging with members, coordinating events, and ensuring the successful delivery of training courses and services.

Location

The role is currently based NIAB’s HQ in Cambridge, CB3 0LE however will move to NIAB’s Park Farm based in Histon in December 2024.
