Polytec are looking for an Electrical Test Engineer for our client based just south of Cambridge. This is a hands-on role requiring travel for installation and test of equipment both in the UK and abroad. Travel will vary depending on business needs but we anticipate 1-2 trips per year for 4-6 week periods.

Responsibilities

* Mechanical alignment and set up
* Subsystem test of electrical control panels
* Integration into the overall machine and final machine test
* Support production to resolve workshop queries
* Support test as problems are identified

Requirements:

* At least 5 years' experience of system and subsystem testing
* Experience in distributed control system using PLCs (Allen Bradley) communicating over Ethernet IP
* Experience of EPLAN for circuit design
* Design of control panels and integration into a system design

* Familiarity with the following would be beneficial:
- Multi axis motion control
- Fluid mass flow controllers
- Pressure and temperature control
- Pneumatic control
- Temperature control systems
