The Role:
As a Technical Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of advanced packaging automation machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime, and delivering first-class customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Electrical Expertise: Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics with ease.
- Machine Wiring: Connecting and wiring control panels, including 240V and 3-phase electrical systems.
- Commissioning & Servicing: Handling the commissioning, breakdowns, service, installation, and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of machinery.
- HMI & IO Cards: Working with inputs/outputs and making adjustments to IO cards.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Utilizing your problem-solving skills to diagnose, repair, and optimize machine performance.
- Field-Based Travel: Covering a large geographical area with a company vehicle provided.
- Proactive Approach: Taking initiative as a technical expert, ensuring customer satisfaction and machine efficiency.
- Overtime Availability: Willingness to work additional hours when required, with generous overtime pay.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- City & Guilds qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or extensive hands-on experience in a similar field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and schematics.
- Experience working with packaging, inspection, or automation equipment (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently.
- Willingness to travel as part of the role with minimal nights away.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with excellent customer service skills.
