Reed Scientific are working with a Cambridge based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. They have an opening within their computational team and are looking for an experienced bioinformatician who can support on multiple activities relating to drug discovery and clinical trials.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of microbial genomic data to elucidate underlying functional mechanisms.
  • Analyze large-scale biological datasets (metagenomics, transcriptomics, etc.) in association with clinical metadata, including data from our clinical trials.
  • Identify, develop, and implement new bioinformatics tools and pipelines to provide novel biological insights.
  • Provide analytical and bioinformatics support across the company.

Candidate Specification:

  • PhD in bioinformatics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of microbial genomics and microbial cellular biology.
  • Familiarity with the Linux command-line environment, and proficiency in a high-level programming language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player, capable of working across disciplines to achieve common goals.
