Finance Analyst

Location: Cambridge (3 Days per week in office)

Salary: £30-35k plus benefits

Are you a finance professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for Excel and Data? Our client is looking for a Finance Analyst to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely management information to their Executive team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with financial data, investigating trends, and providing insights that drive business decisions.

About the Team

The finance team is responsible for producing key financial and resource utilization metrics that support executive decision-making. They leverage Power BI as a primary data tool, sourcing information from the ledger via a data warehouse and manual data loads.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Ownership

  • Maintain data integrity across financial reports
  • Update and improve report templates as needed
  • Manage data permissions and execute manual data loads (Excel-based)

Financial Analysis & Insights

  • Investigate transactional data in response to management queries
  • Provide deep-dive analysis to explain financial trends and variances

General Ledger & Accounting

  • Execute monthly processes in the ledger, including:
  • Interdepartmental cost allocations
  • Priceline calculations & journal bookings
  • Staff cost bookings & income recognition

Budgeting & Special Projects

  • Coordinate the annual budget production
  • Support on ad-hoc finance projects as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with excel (advanced), including data integrity management and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain financial data
  • Experience with general ledger processes and financial reporting
