Interim Finance Manager (part-time)
  • Part-time (25 to 30 hours per week)
  • Cambridge - Minimum 2 days in office
  • 6 months
  • £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on skills and experience)

We working with an established charity, seeking a Finance Manager to provide strong financial leadership and management at their head quarters. This role involves managing the finance team and ensuring the complete and accurate recording of all transactions. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services and will have line management responsibility for two direct reports.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the finance team (2 staff)
  • Ensure the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of records relating to donors and the transfer of data
  • Responsibility for the management accounting; to produce timely monthly reports and improve understanding of organisation performance
  • Manage day-to-day cash flows and prepare a rolling 12-month cash flow forecast
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to maximise the recovery of gift aid through good record keeping
  • Ensure that suppliers are paid within their payment terms and manage banking administration to support business needs
  • Support the preparation of annual accounts and coordinate tasks to ensure a smooth audit process
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience with at least 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Management experience and ability to work in a small team
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Enthusiastic about the charity's mission and work
