Your new role
Working on projects around Cambridgeshire they are now looking for a BIM Implementation Manager to join their team. The key aspect of this role will be to develop a regional strategy for; and manage the implementation of the contractors BIM processes, procedures and best practice across the regional business.As BIM Implementation Manager you will support bids and live projects with understanding the BIM requirements and setting out a strategy for which best suits the client's needs and the supply chains capabilities; and develop the skills and understanding of others through training and ongoing support so that the BIM duties are and can be undertaken by the project or bid team.
Duties to include:
- Develop the BIM Implementation Strategy for the regional business taking into account current workload, future pipeline and the regional diversities.
- Record and track the BIM requirements
- Deliver and support the delivery of BIM training across the region.
- Support the Head of BIM with the on-going development of the BIM training modules so that they are aligned with current best practice and any changes to processes and documentation.
- Communicate BIM strategy and capabilities to current and prospective clients; and on occasions you will deliver training to our clients, supply chain and other external parties.
- Research and trial software, technology and initiatives.
- You will report to the Head of BIM on a frequent basis and attend national BIM strategy meetings at regional offices.
- Support the Head of BIM with BIM developments, training, presentations and initiatives.
- Undertake bid writing on the subject of BIM and collaboration.
- Lead the BIM strategy meetings for each bid which involves a BIM commitment.
- Run a BIM launch meeting for every project
- Visit each of the BIM projects to ensure that all of the commitments are being followed through by the project team and to assist the team with resolving any BIM challenges.
- Audit the information being provided at the end of the project to ensure all the project BIM deliverables are being met.
- Objectively audit all of the BIM projects within the region and cross regionally.
- Monitor live projects and bids with BIM commitments.
- Prepare and deliver reports to the Area Directors, Regional Managing Director and Senior Management Team.
- Report frequently to the Head of BIM.
- Record savings, benefits and KPI's for projects with BIM commitments.
- Undertake supply chain competency assessments and review the result of assessments undertaken by others.
What you'll need to succeed
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant field for example BIM, Design Management, Architectural Technology.
- Have a working knowledge of BS 1192, PAS 1192-2 and other BIM standards and best practice.
- Previous involvement with the implementation of BIM on a National, Regional or Project level.
- Previous experience of delivering training and presentations.
