HSE Advisor - Civils/Groundworks (residential projects)

This role is perfect for a Health & Safety focused individual who has gained experience working for a civil/ groundworks focused company, preferably with knowledge of residential new builds however we can show flexibility on these aspects for the right person.
The continuous growth has created the need for a HSE Advisor to join the team in Cambridgeshire. Operating across the region, with site locations being between Cambridge - Essex, although predominantly in and around Cambridge. Along with the use of a local office the successful HSE will have an active presence on various sites.
Responsibilities

Attend pre-com meetings as requested to contribute to the initial decisions made by the contract team.

Provide assistance to the organisation to enable statutory notices to be applied for when required.

Bring to the attention of the senior management teams any serious breaches of Company policy, procedures and legislation.

Promote a positive H&S Culture within the Company.

Assist the Regional SHE Manager to prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.

Produce RAMS.

Planned site visits and audits including reporting and follow up actions.

Identify training needs and deliver on site training including toolbox talks.

Investigate accidents and incidents.
Qualifications/ Experience

Preferably from a construction degree background, however open to candidates who have progressed within a company and gained relevant experience.

Prior experience in a Health & Safety focused construction position (2+ years).

NEBOSH/ IOSH qualifications
-
Previous experience on groundworks/ civils projects, i.e roadworks, site layout, drainage etc.

Previous experience on residential/ new build developments.

Capable of tackling problems, raising concerns and providing advice on-site with any H&S concerns that arise.

Strong communicator, excellent english reading & writing skills.

Authorised to work in the UK + UK driving license (no sponsorship on offer).
