Teaching Assistant

Location: Cambridge, UK

Contract: Full-time, Part -time

Start Date: Immediate start available

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team and contribute to the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting students with their learning needs.
  • Work with small groups or individual students to provide tailored support, both in the classroom and during activities.
  • Help students with their personal development, including social and emotional support.
  • Provide support for students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure they are included in all classroom activities.
  • Support the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress and communicate with the class teacher regarding any concerns or developments.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and how to support students with varying learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude to the needs of the classroom.

Desirable Criteria:

  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Experience working with children with SEN or additional learning needs.
  • First aid qualification.
