Our client, an independent special school is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students with Moderate and Severe Learning Disabilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and associated challenges. Many students have complex medical needs and sensory/physical impairments. The role involves helping students manage sensory overload, anxiety, and other barriers to learning.

This well-resourced school offers excellent facilities and a strong therapeutic team. Due to growth, they are looking to expand their specialist team, focused on improving outcomes and preparing students for adulthood.

No prior experience is required, your transferrable skills and personal attributes are what's important to succeed here!

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Support students' learning, development, and progress within a range of learning environments
  • Assist young people with PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism in achieving their educational and personal goals.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that respects students' rights and diversity.
  • Focus on empowering and supporting young people.
  • Understand and demonstrate the values and principles of Special Education.
  • Provide high-quality support in all tasks.
  • Participate in physical intervention and personal care as needed.
