IT Support Officer (1-Year Fixed Term)
Starting Salary £29,552 - £35,346 per annum
MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK
As a member of the IT team, you will support the Deputy Head of IT with a fixed-term data management and cybersecurity audit project at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). You will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the project, working alongside users to ensure their data are backed up using approved methods and ensuring devices have software patches installed in line with the LMB’s IT security policies. You will maintain accurate records throughout the project and deliver reports on your progress.
Applicants for this position should be educated to A Level standard or have relevant equivalent experience. You will have experience of auditing, data management or project management. You will also have experience with Mac and Windows computers, IT systems including databases and Microsoft Office and software installations and patching. You will possess a can-do proactive approach to your work, with strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to prioritise your work and work to deadlines, displaying a strong attention to detail.
A salary towards the top of the advertised scale will only be considered for candidates with significant experience.
