gap construction are excited to be supporting this international construction company in their search for an Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a large residential development in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to take the next step in their career, assisting in managing the successful delivery of high-quality residential projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing site operations on RC framed residential buildings, supporting senior site managers, and ensuring the project is completed to the highest standard, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Site Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.
• Assisting in managing the fit-out process for RC frame residential buildings, ensuring smooth coordination of trades including flooring, joinery, kitchen installation, painting, and decorating.
• Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines.
• Regularly liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is progressing as planned and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Maintaining site records, including health and safety documentation, progress reports, and quality inspections.
• Helping manage site logistics and resource planning to ensure the site operates efficiently.

Person Specification:

• Previous experience working in a similar site management role, ideally on RC framed residential buildings.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Site Manager or similar qualification (SMSTS, First Aid, etc.) preferred but not essential.
